Kier, a leading infrastructure services, construction and property group, has promoted Suzy Lovell to deputy general counsel. Suzy joined Kier in 2019 as senior legal counsel, and was most recently head of legal and business assurance for the Group's Construction division, developing an operationally focused team embedded within each of the division's business units. Most recently, she has been instrumental in shaping how Kier uses of AI as co-lead of its steering group, enabling self-builds, to creating hackathons and enterprise planning. Suzy will report directly into the Group's general counsel, Stephen Milne. Suzy said: I'm incredibly proud to work at Kier, and delighted to be progressing my career with the newly created role of Group deputy general counsel. There's so much opportunity within the built environment, from the 10-year infrastructure strategy, regulation updates and AI, and I'm looking forward to helping Kier seize those opportunities, manage risk effectively and support the delivery of our long-term growth ambitions. Stephen Milne, Kier's general counsel and company secretary, added: Suzy is a great legal leader, and this is a well deserved promotion, recognising her track record of delivery and expertise, alongside her enthusiasm for tackling the governance of emerging trends such as AI. This role follows a number of recent senior leadership roles announced by the Group as it progresses with its strategic growth ambitions. Other appointments include Rachel Warren as Group finance director for transformation, a trio of leadership roles in data , and Niki Steel joining as chief human resources officer.
