Jupiter Mines reports steady quarterly output at Tshipi manganese mine in South Africa

About this update from Jupiter Mines Limited

ASX-listed Jupiter Mines (ASX:JMS) reported stable operational performance at the Tshipi Borwa manganese mine in South Africa for the quarter ended September 30, 2025 , according to its Q1 FY2026 activities report. Tshipi recorded production of 829,798t and sales of 837,577t for the period. The company said operations continued at steady run-rates despite logistics constraints across South Africa’s rail and port networks. Output was broadly unchanged compared with the same quarter of FY2025, when the mine produced close to 830,000t, indicating continued operational stability rather than growth momentum. Stockpiles were managed to align production levels with export shipping schedules, Jupiter said. The mine is operated by Tshipi é Ntle Manganese Mining, in which Jupiter holds a 49.9% beneficial interest. Tshipi is one of the world’s largest standalone manganese mines, supplying ore mainly to the steel and alloy sectors, as well as emerging battery-grade manganese markets. Manganese pricing during the quarter remained range-bound, reflecting soft Chinese downstream alloy demand and uneven recovery in steel production. 37% Mn CIF China traded between $4 .20–$4.70/dmtu during the quarter, according to Fastmarkets . Jupiter said its revenue performance for FY2026 will continue to depend on market pricing and logistics reliability. The company noted that infrastructure bottlenecks on Transnet’s rail system remain a key operational risk, though shipping performance improved relative to earlier quarters. Capital spending remained focused on sustaining investment and maintenance programmes at the mine. Jupiter said it expects operational conditions to remain stable into the next quarter, with market and logistics variables likely to determine near-term earnings outcomes. © 2025 bne IntelliNews, source Magazine
