Establishment of New Representative Office in Dhaka, Bangladesh
‒ Strengthening Business Platform in a High-Growth Market -
JFE Shoji Corporation (President & CEO: Yoshifumi Ubagai) has decided to establish a representative office in Dhaka, the capital city of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
Background
Bangladesh, with a population of approximately 170 million, is a promising market that has maintained economic growth of over 4% annually in recent years. Along with the expansion of manufacturing and infrastructure sectors, steel demand reached approximately 8.1 million tons as of 2024 and is expected to grow to around 17 million tons by 2035. Previously, the Company managed the market with business trips from India. Now, it will open a representative office to better meet local expectations for face-to-face interaction and provide quicker decisions and services.
