CALGARY, Sept. 26 /CNW/ - Jasper Mining Corporation (the "Company") has
received final results from the initial 2006 diamond drill program on its 100%
owned Isintok property. The Isintok property comprises approximately 6,029 ha
(14,898 acres or 23.3 sq. miles), covering the drainage divide between McNulty
and Isintok creeks, located approximately 27 km west-southwest of Summerland,
BC and 20 km north of Hedley.
The results reported from the property continue to document copper
(Cu) +/- molybdenum (Mo) +/- gold (Au) +/- silver (Ag) from the area of
current interest. A total of 10 diamond drill holes were completed on the
Isintok property as part of the preliminary 2006 exploration program. Due to
significant delays in receiving analytical data, the 2006 drill program was
temporarily suspended in late July in order to evaluate results from the
initial holes.
The ongoing objective of the Company's exploration program is to locate,
and define, a copper-molybdenum +/- silver +/- gold porphyry style deposit
similar to the Brenda Mine, located approximately 40 km north of the Isintok
property, west of Peachland. "The Brenda Mine began production in early 1970
with measured geological (proven) reserves of 160,556,700 tonnes grading
0.183 per cent copper and 0.049 per cent molybdenum at a cutoff of 0.3 per
cent copper equivalent (eCu (equal sign) % Cu + (3.45 x % Mo))" (BC MINFILE 092HNE047)
(Note: reported prior to implementation of, and therefore not compliant with,
National Instrument 43-101).
The Company's 2005 and 2006 drill pads are located over an area
approximately 300 m east-west by 400 m north-south characterized by anomalous
mineralization as documented in previous programs. The holes comprising the
2006 drill program are within an area approximately 200 m east-west by 565 m
north-south located on the fringe of coincident magnetic and resistivity
anomalies identified on the Fugro airborne geophysical survey.

In previous Press Releases (dated August 11 and August 28, 2006) the
Company announced initial results from analyses of the first five diamond
drill holes (ISIN-06-01 to 05). The Company has received additional results
for the remaining five drill holes. The following are final results from drill
holes ISIN-06-06 to 10. Holes 5 to 8 were drilled from pad 2, Hole 9 from pad
3 and Hole 10 from pad 4.

Note: 1. Re-analysis of two samples having (greater than)2000 ppm
molybdenum not yet received from lab.
The core comprising the sampled intervals was cut using a rock saw, with
one half submitted for analysis and one half retained for subsequent analysis.
The core was submitted to Acme Analytical Laboratory Ltd in Vancouver, BC for
Group 1DX analysis. Samples that returned Cu results greater than 10,000 ppm,
Mo results greater than 2000 ppm, W results greater than 200 ppm and/or Ag
results greater than 100 ppm, representing the upper detection limit for the
Group 1DX package, were re-submitted for re-analysis. Group 7AR - 1.00 gm
analysis was utilized for more quantitative determination of high grade Cu
results. Group 7KP - 0.50 gm analysis was utilized for more quantitative
determination of high grade Mo and/or W (tungsten) results. Sampled intervals
averaged approximately 1.52 m (5 feet) except for a number of high grade
mineralized intervals for which shorter sample intervals were utilized.
Weighted averages have been presented for the entire hole analyzed to
demonstrate the consistent grade of the mineralization. As a preliminary
interpretation of the results, it appears there may be a near surface
mineralized zone (possibly representing a supergene effect), with up to two
zones of anomalous copper +/- molybdenum +/- silver +/- gold at depth. On the
basis of results received to date, together with subsequent interpretation,
the Company intends to re-enter Hole 09 and deepen it to the second expected
mineralized zone at slightly greater depth.
A limited soil program was also completed in the summer of 2006 so as to
evaluate surface soils with respect to airborne geophysics and subsurface
drill results. Copper results up to 1635 ppm suggest that soils may prove very
informative on the property, which is interpreted to be comprised of in situ
weathered granite near the height of land. The Company continues to compile
data from its initial 2006 program in order to utilize the data for the
remainder of its 2006 program.
The Company continues to be very encouraged by the results from the 2006
drill program. Further drilling is proposed for the area of current interest.
The intent of the next phase of drilling is to move northward from the current
area of interest so as to extend the proposed mineralized zones farther north.
The mineralized zones are interpreted to be steeply west dipping, so the
optimal angle for drilling is believed to be -45 degrees toward Az 045
degrees. Holes ISIN-06-09 and 10 represent the deepest holes completed on the
property to date and documented anomalous mineralization at depth. As a
result, mineralization currently identified in the area of interest is
interpreted to remain open at depth and in all directions
(north/south/east/west).
The Company expects to re-mobilize a diamond drill to the property within
the next two weeks to continue its 2006 drill program.
