JFD Global and Larsen & Toubro sign Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate in critical underwater systems and technologies Combining expertise with Larsen & Toubro to jointly pursue opportunities in areas critical to next-generation maritime operations Supporting growth in India, serving the commercial and defence market with innovative diving, submarine and hyperbaric rescue solutions and services JFD Global has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore future collaboration across a wide spectrum of advanced naval and underwater technologies. The MoU with Larsen & Toubro (L&T), a leading Indian multinational engaged in technology, engineering, and manufacturing, outlines a shared intent to jointly pursue opportunities in areas critical to next-generation maritime operations. A mutual interest in participating in naval programmes in India and international markets will be covered under the MoU, leveraging the combined expertise and global reach of both JFD Global and L&T. The collaboration will focus on the entire range of underwater technologies, including co-development of naval autonomous systems, diving systems and uncrewed underwater vehicles. The MoU will also encourage collaboration between both parties on subsystems for divers and submarines - such as gas monitoring systems and other underwater technologies. An ambition to explore joint efforts in the education and training of divers, particularly in lock-in/lock-out operations forms part of the MoU. In addition to knowledge-sharing and technical solutions to improve and support the safety and effectiveness of diving operations. JFD has been present in India since 2016 having signed a contract to supply two non-tethered submarine rescue systems along with a 25-years, All Inclusive Annual Maintenance Contract (AIAMC) until 2047. In late 2024, a contract was also signed with the Indian Navy for the supply of specialist underwater vehicles along with support combat diving equipment, further leveraging JFD's position in India. 1 of 2 Previous Next Richard Devlin, Defence Director at JFD said: This Strategic Cooperation Agreement marks a pivotal step in strengthening our ties with L&T and expanding our footprint in India, and the wider Indo-Pacific region.
