Investment Update – Paraytec: Successful Completion of Phase 2, Breath-Derived EV Programme with VosBio
Truetide plc (AIM: TRUE) is pleased to provide an update on its 100%-owned investee company, Paraytec Limited ("Paraytec"), and its work with VosBio Inc. ("VosBio"). As announced on 25 June 2026, Paraytec and VosBio agreed heads of terms (“HoTs”) for a proposed research and development collaboration to evaluate the feasibility of combining VosBio's breath-collection technology with Paraytec's CX300 platform in the field of early, non-invasive lung cancer detection.
Both parties agreed to commence the initial ‘proof-of-concept’ groundwork under the existing HoTs and the Company is pleased to report that Phase 2 in the proposed six-month development programme has been completed successfully.
Phase 2 — Breath EV Recovery and Baseline Characterisation
Phase 2 was focused on demonstrating that breath samples collected using the VosBio Universal Breath Collector, a device for the rapid, non-invasive capture of exhaled breath condensate (“EBC”), contain recoverable EV-like particles and that prepared samples can be measured consistently on the CX300 platform. Key outcomes achieved during Phase 2 include:
• successful recovery of EV-like particles from breath samples collected using the VosBio device;
• selection of a practical sample-preparation method for reproducible results on the CX300;
• baseline characterisation of particle number, size distribution and background fluorescence confirming compatibility with CX300 analysis; and
• demonstration of stable, repeatable signals on CX300, with negligible carryover between samples.
These results demonstrate the technical feasibility of the combined VosBio-Paraytec workflow and establish the foundation for Phase 3. Phase 3 will focus on developing fluorescent antibody labelling to identify specific EV sub-populations associated with the lung microenvironment, including alveolar epithelial, pulmonary endothelial, macrophage-positive and EGFR-positive EVs.
Successful completion of Phase 2 is an important technical de-risking step for the programme. A breath-based EV assay could potentially support lung cancer screening or triage, patient stratification, disease monitoring and treatment-response studies by providing a non-invasive and repeatable route for sampling lung-proximal biological material.
Next Steps
Phase 3, which focuses on the development and optimisation of an antibody panel for identifying lung-relevant EV sub-populations, is now underway. The parties are working to finalise the definitive collaboration agreement and the Company will update shareholders on its completion and of subsequent development phases. If a follow-on clinical validation plan is agreed, will also provide a further update at that time.
Trevor Brown, CEO of Truetide plc, commented:
“The collaboration and the feasibility programme funded by VosBio are progressing well. These results demonstrate the potential for the CX300 platform to be applied in an area of significant unmet clinical need in early cancer screening. We will continue to update shareholders as the programme progresses.”
