IAG is on the ground supporting customers and communities impacted by bushfires in Victoria. On Sunday 11 January, the Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) declared a Significant Event for the bushfires impacting Victoria since 7 January 2026. IAG, whose brands include NRMA Insurance, CGU, WFI, Rollin', RACQ Insurance and RACV, has established a mobile claims centre in Seymour and is encouraging customers, particularly those cut off from to power, to visit the site for immediate support including temporary accommodation and financial assistance. IAG Executive General Manager of Claims Luke Gallagher said IAG's immediate focus remains on the safety and wellbeing of impacted Victorians as the severe weather event continues to unfold. IAG has been proactively reaching out to customers in Victorian communities affected by bushfires, arranging temporary accommodation, emergency financial assistance and insurance claim support. Our Major Event Response Teams have begun property assessments, and emergency repairs to help people impacted by these terrible bushfires to get back on their feet as quickly as possible. Ex-Tropical Cyclone Koji impacting Far North Queensland IAG meteorologist and Senior Weather Risk Analyst Kathryn Turner warned residents to prepare for more widespread heavy rainfall, after Ex-Tropical Cyclone Koji weakened before crossing the Queensland coast between Ayr and Bowen. Severe weather warnings remain in place across the region with heavy rainfall and damaging winds likely to persist overnight.
