On December 21, 2012, the Consortium comprising Insigma and Alcatel-Lucent concluded the General Contract, worth USD 100 million, for Phase II Project of Information and Communications Technology Education in Laos with the Ministry of Education and Sports of Laos.
The Ministry of Education and Sports of Laos is in the process of building an Education and IT service system aimed at realizing the digitization and intelligent sharing of information, resources, and tasks for the nation-wide educational system in Laos by means of information and communications technology. This cooperation is geared towards providing consultation, design, system building, and after-sales services for the ICT's Phase II project in Laos, including the design and construction of the IT infrastructure system (network system, data center, terminals, and computer peripherals), interactive teaching system, education application system, and video surveillance system.
In recent years, Insigma's global strategic positioning took shape with its two business pillars, i.e. service outsourcing and IT services, growing apace. Prior to this, Insigma's business in the U.S. and Japan mainly focused on software development. This cooperation with Laos is of great importance for Insigma to penetrate the overseas system integration market, as the business is a large-scale system integration of network infrastructure and video surveillance systems at national universities, middle schools, and elementary schools in Laos.
