‌TOKYO, JAPAN - The Gunma Prefecture Forest and Green Conservation General Incorporated Foundation (Foundation), AERO TOYOTA Corporation (formerly registered as Asahi Koyo Co., Ltd.) (AERO TOYOTA), and INPEX CORPORATION (INPEX) announced the official registration of the "Forest-based J-Credit Generation Project" to be implemented in public forests managed by the Foundation.

‌Launched under a non-binding collaborative agreement entered in July 2025 on the generation of J-Credits derived from forests operated by the Foundation※1, the project seeks to quantify CO2 absorption through adequate forest management and conservation activities and generate J-Credits.

‌Beginning in fiscal 2026, The parties will implement the project in phases to generate J-Credits, promote ongoing forest maintenance, support the forestry sector and regional revitalization in Gunma Prefecture and contribute to the realization of a low-carbon society by leveraging the J-Credits.

‌Project Registration Details

• Target forests: Approximately 503 hectares of public forest managed by the Foundation

• Project duration: 8 years

• Forest classification: Growing forest

• Estimated CO2 absorption: Approximately 31,600 t-CO₂ (projected)
