HALIFAX, Jan. 18 /CNW/ - A former head of the Canadian Gas Association and the Ontario Energy Board is joining Nova Scotia Power's (NSPI) Board of Directors.
Marie Rounding brings over 25 years of energy industry, regulatory and legal experience to the NSPI Board. She is the former President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Canadian Gas Association. Prior to that, she served six years as Chair and CEO of the Ontario Energy Board, the quasi-judicial body that regulates that province's electricity and natural gas sectors. She is also a former Chair of the Canadian Association of Members of Public Utility Tribunals (CAMPUT). Ms. Rounding currently serves as Counsel to Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP, a leading Canadian law firm, where she is a member of the National Energy and Infrastructure Industry Group. She is also a Director of Ontario Power Generation.

Ms. Rounding is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario, Osgoode Hall Law School, and the Directors Education Program of the Institute of Corporate Directors at the Rotman School of Management's Corporate Governance College.
In 2006, Nova Scotia Power established its own Board of Directors distinct from that of Emera Inc., its parent company. In addition to Ms. Rounding and Mr. McLennan, NSPI's Board includes:
- George Caines, a partner in Stewart McKelvey, Atlantic Canada's leading law firm; - Irene D'Entremont, President of M.I.T. Electronics in Yarmouth; - Wesley Armour, President, Armour Transportation of Moncton New Brunswick; - Ralph Tedesco, President and CEO of Nova Scotia Power; - Derek Oland, Chair of Nova Scotia Power's holding company Emera Inc. - Chris Huskilson, President and CEO of Emera Inc.
