About this update from Pt Alamtri Minerals Indonesia Tbk

Indonesia's PT Alamtri Minerals Indonesia Tbk IDX:ADMR aims in mid-December to launch operations at its new aluminium plant, which will be one of the country's biggest, an official with the company confirmed on Tuesday.Located in North Kalimantan on Borneo island, the plant is one of the company's flagship projects as Indonesia pushes for more domestic added value for its copious mineral resources.Alamtri will initiate operations at the plant next month and the ramp-up process will run into next year, director Wito Krisnahadi said via a text message."The plan is that starting October 2026, we will be able reach the full-capacity production of 500,000 tons per year," he said.In the long term, Alamtri aims to expand the North Kalimantan project to eventually reach 1.5 million tons of annual capacity. Indonesia, one the world's largest producers of bauxite, banned exports of the raw mineral in 2023 to encourage domestic processing into alumina and aluminium.
