Impact Silver samples 4,800 g/t silver over 1.25 meters and commences drilling at golondrinas (zacualpan)

Aug. 19, 2010 (TheNewswire.ca) --

IMPACT Silver Corp. ("IMPACT" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that the drill has now moved onto the Golondrinas Project Area ("Golondrinas") of the Royal Mines of Zacualpan Silver-Gold District in Mexico while awaiting drill results from the nearby Chontalpan Project Area. Golondrinas is located three kilometers southeast of IMPACT's Guadalupe processing plant (see IMPACT news release dated July 27, 2010).

At this time, only the northern portion of Golondrinas is slated for drilling. Within this 600-meter by 200-meter area is a cluster of 13 northwest striking veins of variable thickness and because of this vein density, most of the drill holes should intersect multiple veins. Six of these veins returned samples better than 1,000 g/t silver, with the best results coming from the Golondrinas Vein underground workings (4,800 g/t silver over 1.25 meters). Mineral association studies conducted by IMPACT's exploration staff suggest the veins in this area are characteristic of the upper portions of the epithermal vein systems in the district, meaning that the initial drill holes will be targeting the higher grade tops of the silver-bearing zone. This initial program will consist of sets of three drill holes (spaced at 50-meter intervals) in each of the following target areas:

LA OBRA WORKING La Obra, Huamuchil, BTH-407 Working Within the La Obra Adit there are 35 rock samples that contain greater than 100 g/t silver, with the highest having 1,135 g/t Silver over 0.31 meters (La Obra Vein)

EL COLORIN II El Colorín II, Cazayate, El Guaje Cazayate Working, values up to 726 g/t Silver, with nine others that range from 115-631 g/t Silver from the adjacent La Blanca Veins

Once the assay results are received from this Phase 1 drilling program, areas that warrant it will receive additional drilling at 50-meter intervals in order to better define continuity and size of the mineralized zones for potential future mining operations.

Historically, most of the numerous old mine workings at Golondrinas date back to the early 1900s. At that time, the nearby town of Texicapan was dominated by American mining interests who were responsible for most of the early work in the Golondrinas area. Recent sampling of many of the old mine workings, geological mapping, geochemical sampling and a comprehensive interpretation of the vein structures have been completed by the Company's exploration staff in preparation for this Phase 1 drill program.
