Ministry of Health chooses IDC X-Series digital technology for health

facilities throughout Chile

CALGARY, Nov. 1 /CNW/ - IDC (Imaging Dynamics Company Ltd.) (TSX: IDL), today announced that it has been awarded a contract by the Government of Chile's Ministry of Health for its new X-Series direct digital X-ray technology. The contract includes the IDC X1600 digital radiographic (DR) system with the new X3C detector, as well as X-Series technology from VMI-Sistemas Medicos (VMI), IDC's Latin American OEM partner. Thirty three units will be installed throughout Chile, providing accessibility to advanced diagnostics to even the most remote regions of the country via an interconnected national medical intranet.

IDC's X-Series provides high quality images using low dose and a very low cost of ownership compared to traditional film X-ray technology.

The contract was awarded to IDC as the result of a rigorous evaluation process that assessed image quality, cost of ownership, current customer installations, service records and FDA regulatory approvals.

"I am proud to be an integral part of Chile's country-wide transition to digital radiography," said Orlando Morante, IDC General Manager, Latin America. "Chile is setting a precedent in Latin America as the first country to standardize on direct digital DR X-ray technology to make the most advanced radiography technology in the world available to its citizens."

This contract extends IDC's leadership position in Latin America. In September, IDC announced a milestone when it completed its 50th shipment of its CCD based DR technology to Latin America, with recent installations in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia and the Dominican Republic.
