DIRECTORS' REPORT
For The Quarter Ended June 30, 2026
The total sales of commercial vehicles of all makes in the country during the Apr-Jun 2026 quarter amounted to 2636 units, representing an increase of 37% over the corresponding period last year.
SALES VOLUME
The sale of Hinopak' trucks and buses decreased to 156 units in comparison to the 180 units of corres ponding quarter of the last year.
SALES REVENUE
Sales revenue for the current quarter decreased to Rs. 3.28 billion from Rs. 3.96 billion in the corresponding quarter of last year. The Company recorded a gross profit of Rs. 544.44 million compa red with Rs . 845.56 million in the corres ponding qua rter of las t yea r.
FINANCE COST
Finance cost for the current quarter decreased to Rs. 71.34 million from Rs. 146.72 million in the corresponding quarter of last year. The principal component of current finance cost was the m a rk-up on s hort- te rm borrowing s , a m ounting to Rs . 65.31 m illion.
PROFIT AFTER TAX
Profit after tax stood at Rs. 209.69 million compared with Rs. 416.82 million in the corresponding quarter of last year, resulting in earnings per share of Rs. 8.45 compared with Rs. 16.81 in the same quarter last year.
FUTURE OUTLOOK
The performance of the commercial vehicle market during the quarter under review reflected an improvement in economic activity, supported by moderating inflation, improved liquidity conditions, and relative stability in the exchange rate. These factors contributed positively to business confidence and demand dynamics.
Looking ahead, while challenges arising from elevated energy prices, market volatility, and supply chain disruptions resulting from prevailing geopolitical developments continue to pose risks, the Company remains cautiously optimistic.
