VANCOUVER, March 29 /CNW/ - Gitennes Exploration Inc. (TSXV: GIT) is pleased to advise shareholders that rare earths, niobium and tantalum occur at the Blue Ice property. These rock samples were collected from outcrop during a late-2010 field programme, are selective grabs weighing 300 to 360 grams and are not representative of geological widths or structures. The host pegmatite dykes are very coarse-grained and much larger samples may be required to accurately determine rare element concentrations and grades.

All values are reported in ppm (parts per million) and were determined by Acme Analytical Laboratories (Vancouver) Ltd. using a lithium borate fusion followed by ICP-MS analysis.
Results to date are encouraging with a tendency to heavy rare earths dominating over light, as noted particularly in sample 31788 where total HREE exceed 7,000 ppm compared to LREE of 3,200 ppm. Three swarms of east-striking pegmatite have been mapped thus far at Blue Ice along a 1200 metre-long north-south corridor. Results reported here are from two separate pegmatite dykes 640 metres apart within a swarm of similar appearing dykes. Brown to black lustrous prismatic minerals are present in samples 24087 and 31788. Sample 31789 is from the same pegmatite body as 31788, had no obvious suspect minerals, instead being from a zone of intense alteration marked by grey mica, clay and quartz.
The Blue Ice property covers a large area of granitic pegmatite dykes with a previously undocumented occurrence of beryl, a beryllium mineral. The Company is evaluating the possibility that the beryl-bearing pegmatite is part of a much larger, camp-scale swarm of rare metal pegmatite that may include lithium and rare earth mineral-rich phases. The next phase of work at Blue Ice will begin as soon as the area is snow-free and will include a more intensive programme of sampling and mapping with a ten-kilometre radius of the current area of interest.
Gitennes is in the first year of a 36-month option whereby it may earn a 100% interest by means of committed and optional exploration expenditures totalling $400,000, making property payments totalling $110,000, and issuing 200,000 common shares. The Company has committed to spend $25,000 in year one and has made a property payment of $25,000 and issued the first tranche of 50,000 shares to the vendors. The vendors will be entitled to retain a 2% NSR. The property is located 100 kilometres north of Sept Iles, Quebec.
