CALGARY, Oct. 7 /CNW/ - General Properties Ltd. (TSX Venture Exchange: GPL) (the "Corporation") is pleased to announce that it has change its name to "General Mining Properties Ltd.", effectively immediately. On August 26, 2008 the Corporation announced that shareholders had approved the change of name from the Corporation to "General Mining Properties Ltd.". The TSX Venture Exchange has approved the name change and the Corporation's shares now trade on the TSX Venture Exchange under the name "General Mining Properties Ltd.". The Corporation's shares will continue to trade under the symbol "GPL".
Shareholders need not take any steps to exchange their share certificates as a result of this change.
This name change is reflective of the Corporation's status as a mining exploration and development company.
The Corporation is a mining exploration and development company with holdings in northern Alberta, Canada. The Corporation has also received shareholder approval for the acquisition of an option to acquire a 70% interest in the Yarnell past producing gold mine project in Arizona (the "Transaction"), the details of which can be found in the August 26, 2008 press release of the Corporation.
