Singapore, 3rd November 2021 - SGX-listedMetech International Limited ("Metech" or the "Company", "铭泰国际" and together with its subsidiaries, the "Group"), is pleased to announce that its joint venture company, Asian Eco Technology Pte. Ltd. ("AET" or "易高生态科技有限公司") has entered into a collaboration with 广东长江电缆有限公司 ("Chang Jiang Cables") to jointly research and develop industrial applications for cables and wires with lab-growndiamonds so to improve product quality, enhance productivity and improve cost-savingsin raw materials usage.
In addition, AET will supply Chang Jiang Cables with its lab-grown diamonds for the purpose of producing diamond-related cables and wires.
Based in Guangdong Province, Chang Jiang Cables is a large-scale, integrated enterprise specialising in the production of a wide range of cables and wires. It utilises automated production facilities with advanced equipment and is supported by its in-house technical expertise. As a testament to its high product quality, Chang Jiang Cables has attained several international quality and industry certifications and assurance. The Electrical Properties of Diamonds Allow for High Power Density (based on High Critical Electric Field and High Carrier Mobility
When power generators transfer electricity, they lose almost 10% of the generated power. To address this, researchers have now successfully fabricated a key circuit in power conversion systems using hydrogenated diamond. These circuits can be used in diamond-based electronic devices that are smaller, lighter and more efficient than silicon-based devices(2).
With the increasing importance for power, light and communication, the cable and wire industry has established itself as one of the backbones of modern information age. Cables and wires are used for transmitting power, signals and also in various industries. They are widely used across various end-use segments including residential, commercial and industrial purposes.
