The family of traditional Ural trucks already has a right-hand steering version, now the right-hand steering vehicle is available in the family of the new NEXT generation. The vehicle is intended for export to the countries with left-hand traffic, which constitute a significant export potential: over 30% of the world's population live in the countries with left-hand traffic. After participating in the exhibition, the vehicle will go on trial to one of the African countries.
When creating the right-handed version, the pedal unit in the cabin was moved to the right and completely rearranged, the steering column and a combination of instruments, the fuse block were moved to the right-hand side, while the windscreen wiper and the glove box were moved to the left. Thanks to the symmetry of the main dashboard hardware originally intended for creating right-hand steering modifications, it was possible to minimize the time for the development and preparation of the cabin production. Changes in the hardware include the 'mirrored' steering gear, original brackets of the mechanism and the crossmembers of the frame, original lever of the steering knuckle on the front axle, special dipped-beam headlights for left-hand traffic.
The Ural vehicle is equipped with air conditioning, which provides a high level of convenience for the driver and passengers when driving on adverse terrain and in harsh weather conditions. The vehicle is equipped with a flat body with folding sides and tailgate that can be used to carry passengers (up to 35 people when three rows of seats are installed), cargoes, as well as a KK 4.2 size container with locks according to the ISO standard (complies with the connection dimensions of a standard twenty-feet container). The truck is equipped with a YMZ-536 engine with a power of 312 hp.
While preserving the traditional advantages of the Ural brand, unique off-road capability ability and functionality, Ural NEXT trucks have increased reliability and comfort, improved steerability and efficiency. The warranty for the vehicles is 24 months or 100 thousand km of mileage, the service interval of the car is 15 thousand km.
