EURASIA APPPOINTS SOUTH AFRICAN EXPLORATION MANAGER
EURASIA MINING PLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Skead, an
experienced South African geologist, as exploration manager for South Africa.
Michael Skead's immediate task will be to supervise the exploration of Eurasia's
Kliprivier project in South Africa, where drilling is scheduled to start in
April following completion of an aeromagnetic survey. The Kliprivier option is
one of the last substantial pieces of platinum potential along the base of the
Bushveldt Complex. Michael Skead will also be responsible for the continued
acquisition and exploration of other platinum metals projects.
Michael was previously exploration manager for SAMAX Gold Inc in Tanzania in
which capacity he was responsible for the team's discovery of, and feasibility
studies on, two separate gold deposits in the Geita district. As a consequence
of these discoveries Ashanti Goldfields acquired SAMAX for US$140 million.
Following the takeover Michael assumed the post of Exploration Manager for
Ashanti in Tanzania.
Previous to joining SAMAX Michael worked for eight years for Gencor in South
Africa, Indonesia and USA including spells on the Bushveld, on gold deposits and
other commodities.
Dr Michael Martineau, Executive Deputy Chairman, said 'Michael is a dynamic and
successful explorationist with an impressive track record. He was a strong
member of my SAMAX team and I have every confidence that he will create further
success for Eurasia in South Africa'
