GUELPH, ON, July 25 /CNW/ - ENPAR Technologies (ENP.V) Dr. Gene Shelp, President and CEO of ENPAR Technologies Inc. ("ENPAR"), is extremely pleased to announce it has now shipped the first DesEL unit to Singapore Utilities International Pte Ltd ("SUI") of Singapore for testing.
ENPAR has also sent one of its scientists to assist in conducting onsite training in Singapore. As previously announced, the Company's DesEL system will be evaluated for the recovery of water from brine concentrate that is produced by conventional membrane-type water treatment systems such as reverse osmosis. As much as 30% of the treated water can end up in the waste stream.
The mission of SUI, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Public Utilities Board (PUB) of Singapore, is to support the functions of the PUB, using expertise in state-of-the-art water treatment technology.
Dr. Shelp stated, "ENPAR's DesEL system will recover greater than 90% of the waste water for reuse. Collaboration with SUI represents an opportunity to work with the leader in recycling and reuse of process water."
Both SUI and ENPAR understand that successful testing shall lead to a significant business relationship that explores water opportunities in Singapore and other select regions in Asia where affordable water is in limited supply.
