Dragon Mountain Gold Limited (ASX: DMG) is pleased advise that its drill program at the Avalon Project has commenced.
Avalon
At the Company's Avalon Project, 30km east of Kalgoorlie, earthworks have been completed on all accessible drill sites and the drilling contractors have mobilised to the site to begin drilling. The delayed start of on-ground works has partially been due to the recent rain events preventing access to heavy machinery. An internal re-design and budgeting within the company also resulted in a small delay in field mobilisation of personnel and equipment. The planned RC drilling is a program targeting interpreted gold geological hosts within a larger interpreted sheared contact between the Bulong ultramafic rocks and the volcaniclastics/basalts to the west. This will obtain geological samples and data below the extensive transported cover and laterite units which mask bedrock features of interest. Historically, the bedrock geology of the Avalon tenements has seen limited to no exploration activity below that of the overlying nickel laterite deposits. The four (4) RC drill holes are spaced along this interpreted sheared/veined contact that runs through DMG's tenements.
