SOFTWARE RADIO TECHNOLOGY PLC
$1.1 million AIS order
The Directors of Software Radio Technology plc ("SRT" or the "Company") are
pleased to announce that SRT Marine Technology Limited ("SRT Marine") has
signed an AIS distribution agreement and received an initial order worth US$1.1
million from a new international distributor.
Under the agreement SRT Marine will supply the distributor with AIS Class B PCB
modules for use in a range of AIS-enabled products. The initial order is to
fulfil existing orders held by the distributor and is expected to be delivered
within the next six months.
The distributor is a large multinational company with an extensive sales and
distribution network and established brand. This network will be used to access
the growing number of AIS opportunities around the world.
In addition SRT Marine has agreed to support the distributor with an
international marketing campaign targeting 500,000 commercial fishing vessels
which present a major potential opportunity for AIS Class B. This campaign is
expected to commence in November and last for up to six months.
Simon Tucker, Group Managing Director of SRT plc said, "The initial $1.1m order
is extremely encouraging and reflects the distribution and brand power of this
customer, as well as the rapidly growing global AIS market. We are looking
forward to a long term relationship with this customer."
Note: As a core technology provider, SRT is often bound by strict
confidentiality restrictions which prevent the release of the name of the
