Dofasco terminates support agreement with ThyssenKrupp

HAMILTON, ON, Jan. 23 /CNW/ - Dofasco Inc. announced today that the
company's Board of Directors unanimously agreed to terminate the support
agreement between ThyssenKrupp AG and Dofasco pursuant to ThyssenKrupp's
announcement that it has waived its right to match the offer of C$71 per
common share made by Arcelor S.A.
Under the support agreement between ThyssenKrupp and Dofasco, a break fee
of C$215 million has become payable upon such termination.

Dofasco is a leading North American steel solutions provider. Product
lines include hot rolled, cold rolled, galvanized, Extragal(TM), Galvalume(TM)
and tinplate flat rolled steels, as well as tubular products, laser-welded
blanks and Zyplex(TM), a proprietary laminate. Dofasco's wide range of steel
products is sold to customers in the automotive, construction, energy,
manufacturing, pipe and tube, appliance, packaging and steel distribution
industries.
