LETTER TO COMPANY ANNOUNCEMENTS OFFICE
We have today been notified of the following transactions:-
L. WOOD, Executive Director
1). Owing to the Release today of 'A' Limited Voting Ordinary Shares
appropriated on the 18th April, 1997, under the Heavitree Brewery Profit Sharing
Scheme, non-beneficial interest is decreased by 4837 shares.
2). Purchase of 8997 'A' Limited Voting Ordinary Shares on the 19th April, 2000
at £2.85 per share, to satisfy a further appropriation under the Heavitree
Brewery Profit Sharing Scheme. The non-beneficial aspect of this purchase is
6433 shares with 2564 being beneficial.

1). Owing to the release today of 'A' Limited Voting Ordinary Shares
appropriated on the 18th April, 1997 under the Heavitree Brewery Profit Sharing
Scheme, non-beneficial interest is decreased by 5381 shares.
2) Purchase of 8997 'A' Limited Voting Ordinary Shares on the 19th April, 2000
at £2.85 per share to satisfy a further appropriation under the Heavitree
Brewery Profit Sharing Scheme. The non-beneficial aspect of this purchase is
7362 shares, with 1635 being beneficial.
Following these transactions Mr.Wood and Mr Crocker are now respectively
interested in 46683 and 184094 'A' Limited Voting Ordinary Shares, representing
1.2% and 4.7% of the relevant share capital.
