Cummins focuses on durability, efficiency and uptime for Canadian fleets with 2027 heavy-duty solutions at Truck World

· Issued by Cummins Inc.

Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) is reinforcing its long-term commitment to Canadian fleets at Truck World Canada, April 16-18, as the company advances its 2027 heavy duty platform and supporting powertrain, axle and digital technologies tailored for demanding operating conditions.

Building on its established presence in Canada, Cummins is highlighting solutions designed to deliver durability, efficiency and uptime across long haul, vocational and regional applications. These include the 2027 X15, the new X10, the Twin Module aftertreatment system and the RT 160 HE tandem drive axle - technologies developed to help fleets manage evolving emissions requirements while maintaining productivity and profitability.

Canadian fleets operate in some of the toughest conditions in the world, facing long distances, extreme climates and evolving requirements to reduce emissions while controlling operating costs. Cummins' latest engine platforms and components are engineered to help fleets meet those challenges with confidence, supporting reliable performance across diverse duty cycles.

'Our customers operate in some of the toughest environments and they need equipment they can count on,' said Adam Whitney, General Manager for Engine Business - North America. 'That's why we've advanced fuel efficiency to help lower operating costs, strengthened performance and drivability across every route and engineered durability to ensure reliable operation-no matter the conditions.'

A Cummins press conference will take place on Thursday, April 16, at 10:30 a.m. at Booth 2628.

Advancing a Legacy of 15-Liter Platform

At the center of Cummins' Truck World exhibit is the 2027 X15, the company's most efficient heavy duty diesel engine to date. Built on more than 25 years of X15 platform legacy, the 2027 X15 maintains the familiar architecture and proven components fleets rely on, while incorporating refinements that can contribute to improved fuel efficiency compared with the 2024 X15 while maintaining similar diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) consumption.

The 2027 X15 is rated up to 605 horsepower and 2,050 lb. ft. of torque, providing the performance and capability customers expect for demanding on highway applications, while delivering improved fuel efficiency and long term value.

2027 X15, X10 and Twin Module Aftertreatment System

Cummins' presence at Truck World offers fleet managers and industry partners an early look at the 2027 X15, the X10 and the Twin Module Aftertreatment system. Cummins product and engineering experts will be available throughout the show to discuss specifications, applications and how these solutions address the unique needs of Canadian operations.

The Cummins X10, a new mid-bore diesel engine, is designed to serve vocational, transit, pickup and delivery, and regional haul customers. Built on the proven legacies of the L9 and X12 platforms, the X10 delivers up to 4% improved fuel economy compared with the L9 and up to 2% compared with the X12. Its 10-liter architecture reflects Cummins' continued advancement of technology that helps fleets reduce operating costs while maintaining the power and performance required for tough jobs.

Designed to meet the diverse demands of heavy- and medium-duty trucks, the Cummins Twin Module Aftertreatment system supports strict emissions standards while maintaining durability, efficiency and performance. Built on proven architecture, the system features separate DPF and SCR assemblies, enabling flexible chassis integration while maintaining serviceability requirements. An integrated Cummins electric heating system delivers on-demand thermal management when and where required.

A new high-efficiency tandem drive axle for heavy linehaul applications

At Truck World, Cummins will showcase the new Meritor RT-160 HE tandem drive axle family for heavy linehaul applications. The RT-160 HE offers efficiency gains similar to those enjoyed by linehaul users of the MT40-14X HE axle in the United States, while maintaining the proven axle capacity required for heavier demands in the Canadian and Mexican markets. Available in 40k and 46k GAWR ratings, the axles are suitable for on-highway applications up to 185,000 GCW and provides a one percent axle efficiency gain over the predecessor RT-160 product. The rear-rear carrier design has also been optimized with an integrated bearing cage resulting in a 35 lb weight reduction versus its predecessor without compromising its industry-leading durability.

Advanced Aftermarket Meritor Braking Solutions

Cummins will also showcase the Meritor MFLEX4 air disc brake pad, a patent-pending solution engineered for durability, versatility and broad fitment coverage for the heavy-duty aftermarket. The MFLEX4 pad is designed to fit four commonly used air disc brake caliper models: the Bendix ADB22X, Hendrickson MAXX22T, WABCO MAXXUS and WABCO PAN22. This compatibility enables estimated coverage of up to 70% of the Class 8 truck and trailer market based on current industry data, supporting both linehaul and severe-service applications. The MFLEX4 pad simplifies service, reduces inventory complexity and helps streamline procurement for the North American commercial vehicle aftermarket.

Digital Solutions Designed for Uptime

Cummins customers can expect a digitally enriched experience throughout the life of vehicles, including features that connect in-mission operations directly to maintenance using real-time data.

These capabilities include predictive service insights, over-the-air software updates and digital maintenance tools that minimize downtime, streamline fleet management and help ensure vehicles operate with the latest Cummins technology.

Digital features are available through Cummins Connected Solutions or participating OEM portals and are enabled by Acumen, Cummins' smart computing hardware, or an OEM telematics device.
