CORRECTION: AMERICAN and BRITISH Spies Stole the Keys to the Encryption Castle (WFMC Editoral)

· Issued by Syntrol Corporation

WHAM Inc. Park Ridge, IL Feb. 25th 2015 (OTC: WFMC) So what’s the big deal about stolen encryption keys?  On Feb 20th, major news outlets across the world sounded the alarm with ominous headlines like: “AMERICAN and BRITISH Spies Stole the Keys to the Encryption Castle”, but most people don’t really know that means.  Many questions are being asked and WHAM Inc. can provide some much needed guidance.

What Actually Happened?
Gemalto is a Dutch company that manufactures SIM cards and they supply SIMs for nearly 90% of mobile devices/phones worldwide.  SIMs don’t just allow you to connect to mobile networks and track your usage – they are also used to keep track of your personal mobile communication data.  All of their factory-installed encryption keys (secret codes used to protect your personal data) were compromised because in 2010 US and British government agencies (the NSA and GCHQ) found a way to steal them and have continued to steal them every year since then.  The only reason for someone to steal these keys is to be able to spy on the individual people’s mobile communications “secretly”, i.e. without legally justifiable reason or warrants/subpoenas and/or without going through proper channels like foreign government and telecom provider approvals.  All of their activity using these keys was “invisible” – there is no evidence of their actions – no one can say who or how many mobile communications were spied on.

How could this impact me and the privacy of my mobile communications?

With these keys, the NSA and the GCHQ essentially have free-range access to huge amounts of personal mobile communication data any time they want it, for anyone in the world. This applies to all voice calls and SMS text messaging data – they can listen to everything you say on your mobile phone and read all your SMS messages. Fortunately, individual application data cannot be compromised through the SIM.

So will using any Mobile Communications App will protect my privacy?

All Apps are NOT created the equal. Some Apps are not designed for privacy at all – in fact, some openly collect your information.  Others use encryption but are susceptible to the same type of breach of privacy that Gemalto experienced. WHAM’s Secure Mobile App keeps ALL your calls and ALL your messages private and secure. Even if someone could copy and store all data coming to and from your Smartphone, they could only access data OUTSIDE of WHAM’s Secure Mobile App. WHAM’s Secure Mobile App does not store keys anywhere. They are used only once on a single packet and then discarded, never to be used again.  In fact, WHAM doesn’t even share keys with others within its secure mobile communication environment. On a typical WHAM Secure Mobile voice call, over 100 unique different keys are used during each second of the phone call, one for each of the 50 voice packets from the sender and one for each of the 50 voice packets from the receiver talking back.  While other secure voice systems offer one new secret key for each new call, WHAM’s Secure Mobile App offers Users nearly 6000 unique random keys a minute, (100 keys X 60 seconds).  WHAM also uses a different unique random secret key on every text message and message attachment.

What’s the best choice for a Mobile Communications App?

Using device-based voice calls and SMS text messaging services is an old habit which may be hard to break but protecting your privacy will require change.  Choosing the right Mobile Communications App will be key to the level of privacy you will have. WHAM’s Secure Mobile App offers military-grade mobile communications protection and uses a level encryption that is patented, hack-proof, and light-years ahead of the competition! As soon as we soon launch, WHAM's Secure Mobile Communications App will instantly be considered the most secure consumer mobile communications app available in the world.
