· Issued by Fusion Antibodies PLC via RNS

Summary by 6ix AI

Fusion Antibodies plc, a Belfast-based contract research organisation providing antibody engineering services, has been awarded a new project to produce a client's lead antibody and then study it by cryogenic electron microscopy, a technique that images frozen samples to show their structure. The client is a US-based specialty division of a global pharmaceutical company.

Key details

  • The project covers transient gene expression, a short-term method of producing an antibody from genes introduced into cells, followed by the cryogenic electron microscopy study.
  • The work falls under an existing master services agreement with the client.
  • Fusion expects the project to generate revenues of more than £85,000.
  • Fusion recently completed a humanisation project for the same client, a project to make an antibody more like human antibodies, as announced on August 28, 2025.
  • Fusion says the contract supports its strategy to increase its exposure to larger pharmaceutical companies and to commercialise technologies such as OptiMAL and microfluidic cell line development.

Contract win

Fusion Antibodies plc (AIM: FAB), a specialist in pre-clinical antibody discovery, engineering and supply for therapeutic drug and diagnostic applications, announces the award of a new project covering the transient gene expression (“TGE”) of a client’s lead antibody and a subsequent cryogenic electron microscopy (“CryoEM”) study (the “TGE and CryoEM Project”) under an existing master services agreement with a US-based specialty division of a global pharmaceutical company (the “Client”). The Company has an established relationship with the Client, having recently completed a humanisation project, as announced on 28 August 2025.

Work on the TGE and CryoEM Project is expected to be completed within the current financial year. The technologically complex nature of the contract demonstrates the relevance of the Company’s specialist capabilities and supports its strategy to commercialise technologies such as OptiMAL® and microfluidic cell line development. The TGE and CryoEM Project is expected to generate revenues in excess of £85,000 for the Company.

Adrian Kinkaid, CEO of Fusion, said: “We are delighted to have secured this further project with an established pharmaceutical client, following the successful completion of our recent humanisation programme. This repeat business reflects the strength of our relationship and the value of Fusion's specialist antibody development capabilities. The award also supports our strategy of developing deeper relationships with major pharmaceutical companies, providing opportunities for further collaboration and a more diversified revenue base.

“We look forward to continuing our work together to support the development of therapeutic antibodies. The TGE and CryoEM Project demonstrates Fusion’s experience in delivering high-quality therapeutic antibody services. We are excited to further build on our ongoing relationship with our Client.”
