Federal Judge Denies Zillow's Preliminary Injunction Request; Affirms that Competition Between MLSs Could Increase Choices Available to Brokers, Agents, and Sellers; Agents See Banned Listings Outside of Chicago Restored on Zillow

NEW YORK - September 17, 2026- Compass, Inc. (NYSE: COMP; the "Company") welcomed an important legal victory for homeowners and its real estate professionals as a federal Judge in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois denied Zillow's motion for a preliminary injunction against the Company and Midwest Real Estate Data (MRED) earlier in the week.

Following the Court's ruling, MRED may suspend Zillow's access to more than 30,000 listings in Chicago if Zillow bans any listing in the MRED feed, regardless of where the home is located in the United States. Over the past 24 hours, nearly 100 Compass real estate agents outside of Chicago have already joined MRED and dozens of previously banned Compass listings have been restored on Zillow. As other MLSs see MRED compete by offering real estate professionals and homeowners more choices on how they can market their homes, a pathway is emerging for MLSs across the country to adopt their own pro-competitive and pro-consumer offerings. As the Court noted in its opinion, "MRED's national expansion could permit it to compete with other MLSs for members and listings, potentially increasing the choices available to brokers, agents, and sellers."

"This ruling is a significant win for homeowners and our real estate professionals nationwide," said Robert Reffkin, Founder and Chief Executive Officer. Reffkin continued, "Homeowners deserve the right to choose how their properties are marketed, and no one should be penalizing agents for simply following their client's lawful instructions. As a company, we will continue to champion pro-competitive, pro-consumer, and innovative services and products that deliver positive outcomes for all our stakeholders."
