NIGHT TRAIN TO THE ALPS FOLLOWING THE SUCCESS OF THE PARIS-BOURG-SAINT-MAURICE ROUTE, TRAVELSKI IS LAUNCHING A «VERTICALE EUROPE'» BETWEEN AMSTERDAM AND BOURG-SAINT-MAURICE THE « TRAVELSKI NIGHT EXPRESS »

IS THEREFORE AVAILABLE ON TWO ROUTES

Saint-Ouen, april 16, 2026 - Travelski, a subsidiary of the Compagnie des Alpes Group, has announced the launch of a new overnight rail service from the Netherlands and Belgium to the French Alps, as well as the continuation of the Travelski Night Express, the Paris-Moutiers-Aime-Bourg-Saint-Maurice route, for the 2026/2027 winter season. A real challenge, initiated by Compagnie des Alpes, the return of the night train - which has already won the hearts of skiers - aims in particular to raise awareness among an ever-growing number of visitors of the rail alternative for travel to ski resorts by 2030.

Press Release Travelling by train from even further afield The new night service linking the Benelux countries to the Alps… in a single dream

Travelski is taking a new step forward for the 2026-2027 season with the launch of a new overnight sleeper train service departing from Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Antwerp and Brussels and travelling to Bourg-Saint-Maurice in the Tarentaise via Moutiers and Aime-la-Plagne.

Designed and operated by Pegasus Trains, a new entrant to the French rail market, this European route will offer around 400 berths, enabling European travellers to reach the finest French ski resorts in the Tarentaise region in the best possible conditions. By providing a direct link between the Benelux countries and the Alps, Travelski will establish itself as a key player in carbon-neutral* travel across Europe.

Travelski Night Express How the night train won over the hearts (and saved time) of skiers

Launched last December, the Travelski Night Express Paris - Bourg-Saint-Maurice has lived up to all expectations. With an occupancy rate reaching as high as 85% at the height of winter and an exemplary punctuality rate of 95% (i.e. just one delay), the Pegasus Trains service has demonstrated its technical reliability and commercial viability. Passengers have praised this mode of transport for being "convenient and relaxing", highlighting the pleasure of arriving at the foot of the slopes without the fatigue of a car journey. The major advantage is undoubtedly the time saved: by travelling overnight, customers were able to enjoy eight full days of skiing, making the journey an integral part of their holiday. The welcome at the station, the quality of the dining car and the comfort of the sleeping kits were the cornerstones of this satisfaction.

New services for 2026-2027: 100% electric, 100% comfort, 100% user-friendly.

For trains with 660 berths departing from Paris - Gare de Lyon, as well as for trains with more than 400 berths departing from Amsterdam:

  • 100% electric traction: As part of Compagnie des Alpes' commitments to reducing its carbon footprint (Scope 3), all journeys will now be operated by electric locomotives, ensuring a journey with a reduced environmental impact.

  • Upgrading: Plans for a new first-class sleeper carriage are currently under consideration, complemented by

comfort options such as mattress toppers and a 'beds made on arrival in the cabin' service.

  • Fine dining and a convivial atmosphere: The dining car, the true heart of the train, with table seating, will offer new, enhanced menus to extend the convivial experience on board.

Sales are about to begin

Bookings for these two routes (Paris and Amsterdam) will open from the week of 20 April 2026 for the 15 return journeys between mid-December and the end of March, with departures on Friday evenings and returns on Saturday evenings. For bookings departing from Paris, Brussels and Antwerp, in addition to the official website www.travelski.com, the service will also be available via train distribution platforms wishing to market the Travelski Night Express. For bookings departing from Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Antwerp and Brussels: nl.travelski.com

According to Dominique THILLAUD, Chief Executive Officer of the Compagnie des Alpes : « End-to-end decarbonisation is possible… thanks to the night train, with the two Travelski Night Express rail services to the French Alps. This rail initiative, supported by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region and the municipalities of Bourg-Saint-Maurice and Aime-La-Plagne, also allows visitors to enjoy eight days of skiing instead of six, thereby combining environmental performance, the region's appeal and visitor satisfaction. »

According to Nicolas DELORD, Director of Travelfactory : « The success of the Travelski Night Express confirms the huge appeal of carbon-free, stress-free travel. By launching this new route from Amsterdam and Brussels whilst upgrading the service, we are reaffirming our ambition: to make the night train the standard for sustainable and memorable travel through the European Alps. ».

According to Guillaume de Marcillac, co-founder of Pegasus Trains : « Pegasus Trains designs and operates turnkey rail solutions for the tourism sector, complementing existing rail services. The success of this first season confirms the effectiveness of our model: rapidly providing additional rail capacity, tailored to seasonal tourist flows, by utilising refurbished existing rolling stock and ensuring seamless operational delivery. We are proud to support Compagnie des Alpes in its strategy to decarbonise its customers' transport and are already working to roll out European routes on a larger scale from next winter onwards. »
