Clarivate Plc (NYSE:CLVT), a leading global provider of transformative intelligence, today announced that Online Dakota Information Network (ODIN) has selected the company to power a multi-state, library resource sharing network across North and South Dakota. The new cloud-based platform will connect more than 200 academic, public, state, school and special libraries of varying sizes that are operating a wide variety of library management systems into a single resource sharing network. The new Clarivate platform will help expand access to collections and support more efficient borrowing and lending across communities in both states, delivering value and better service to both libraries and users. The initiative, supported and administered by the Online Dakota Information Network (ODIN), part of the North Dakota University System Core Technology Services, is jointly sponsored by the North Dakota State Library and the South Dakota State Library. George Seamon, State Librarian, South Dakota State Library said: "It has always been important for libraries to share materials to maximize resources and space. Through sharing, we can expand a library's collection beyond what is locally housed. Together, North and South Dakota will in practice double our statewide collections, and leverage group purchasing so that we can continue to use tax dollars as efficiently and effectively as possible while providing the best services to our respective state's citizens." The Dakotas initiative represents an important milestone for Rapido, demonstrating how statewide and regional library organizations, and consortia, can build collaborative resource sharing networks that connect libraries across multiple library systems.
