China's Shenghong Petrochemical plans June overhaul for two months, sources say

Chinese private refiner Shenghong Petrochemical is planning to shut in June its entire complex in east China for maintenance, three sources familiar with the matter said, its first major turnaround since the plant's startup in 2022.The 320,000-barrels-per-day crude unit and secondary processing units will be shut for about two months, the sources added.The exact start date of the overhaul could not be confirmed, although two of the sources said the shutdown will begin in the first half of June.Shenghong Petrochemical, based in the eastern coastal city of Lianyungang in Jiangsu province, also operates a 2.8 million-tons-per-year (tpy) aromatics unit and a 1.1 million tpy ethylene plant.The company did not comment on the matter.
