CALGARY, Dec. 12 /CNW/ - Champion Bear Resources Ltd. ("Champion Bear") anticipates the start of its 1,000 metre follow-up drilling program at its Plomp Farm gold property immediately after the Christmas break. The drilling will test the mineralized structure approximately 20 to 25 metres up dip from the previously announced intersection of 71.2 g Au/t over 0.4 metres in hole PF-07-119W1 (see Champion Bear's news release dated August 1, 2007). A wedge cut from this new hole is also planned.
Eagle Rock Property
Three diamond drill holes, totaling 927 metres, have been completed at the Eagle Rock Cu-Ni-Pt-Pd-Au Property 80 kilometres south of Dryden on December 7, 2007. These holes tested the continuity of mineralization to depth on sections 1+00W and 1+00E within the central part of the Campbell zone. The current drilling has extended the vertical depth of the mineralized zone, which dips 70degrees to the southwest on these to sections, from 150 metres to 225 metres and 75 metres to 180 metres, respectively (see Table 1). The results of this drill program will be used in combination with the recently completed IP survey and surface geological mapping to plan the 2008 work program. Samples for the first hole (ER-07-47) have been submitted to Actlabs for analyses. Sampling of the other two holes is currently in progress. Analytical results are expected in mid January 2008.

Alcona Property
Reconnaissance and due diligence sampling at the Sioux Lookout area Alcona Property in October returned assay results ranging from 0.87 to -41.4 g Au/t. These five grab samples were collected from the Trench 99 area (see Table 2) to confirm previously reported results from these trenches 1.5 kilometres west of the former Alcona mine, along a northeast trending shear zone. Elsewhere rock chip samples collected from mafic volcanic outcrops, north of Trench Lake, (approximately 1.5 kilometres northeast of Trench 99) and 500 metres northwest of the Alcona shaft returned anomalous gold values of 24 ppb and 40 ppb, respectively, and confirm the presence of anomalous gold throughout the area. Champion Bear has staked three additional claims and plans a comprehensive program of data compilation, detailed geological mapping and ground geophysical surveying to explore the entire property in 2008.

Iron Mask Property
Rock chip sampling of suspected Sudbury breccia outcrops at the Iron Mask
Property in Sudbury returned anomalous copper assay of up to 1,250 ppm Cu and
168 ppm Ni (see Table 3). Champion Bear completed a detailed follow-up
sampling program and a 7.5 kilometre IP survey over a zone of Sudbury breccia
outcropings initially identified on its detailed southern survey block in
2004. Champion Bear is currently reviewing the IP survey results, which
identified a number of chargeability anomalies coincident with the Sudbury
breccia outcrops, in preparation for a follow-up drilling program in 2008.

Reconnaissance surveys and sampling at the Alcona Property and follow-up sampling at the Iron Mask Property as well as the supervision of the drilling at the Eagle Rock Property was carried out by Watts, Griffis and McOuat Limited ("WGM") personnel, under the field supervision of WGM senior geologist J. Smolen, P. Geo and WGM geologist Tania Ilieva, P. Geo.
Rock chip samples were collected in new plastic sample bags and sealed and shipped directly to the respective assay labs by the supervising geologists. Samples from the Alcona Property were shipped by Greyhound to Activation Laboratories in Ancaster and the Iron Mask Property samples were hand delivered to SGS laboratories in Sudbury for preparation.
Analytical procedures for the Alcona Property samples included Multielement INAA (Instrumental Neutron Activation Analysis), TD-ICP (Total digestion-Inductively Coupled Plasma) or TD-MS (with Mass Spectrometry) and several samples were selected for whole rock analyses using FUS-XRF Fusion with X-ray diffraction. Five of the higher grade gold samples were re-assayed using FA-Met (Fire Assay with screened metallic process) to confirm the gold analyses.
The Iron Mask Property samples prepared at SGS in Sudbury were sent to SGS Minerals Services Laboratory in Toronto, Ontario, an ISO accredited laboratory. All samples were prepared by drying up to 3 kilograms of sample, crushing to 90% passing 2 millimetres, then a 250 gram split was pulverized to 85% passing 75 microns. A total of 12 samples pulps were assayed for the following:
- Gold, Platinium, Paladium by fire assay (30 g, ICP-AES finish; code
FAI313); and
- Trace and base metal 14 element package (code ICP21R) including Zn,
Pb, Cu, Ni, Co, Ag, As and Bi.
Diamond drill core was logged, marked for sampling and saw cut, half the core was sealed in new plastic sample bags and the remaining half-core was retained and securely stored for future reference. Plastic sample bags were then placed in rice bags, sealed and shipped directly by Greyhound to Activation Laboratories in Ancastor.
