Carcross/Tagish First Nation and Tagish Lake Gold Corp. Conclude a Memorandum of Understanding

RICHMOND, B.C., Jan. 18 /CNW Telbec/ - Carcross/Tagish First Nation (CTFN) and Tagish Lake Gold Corp. (TSX.V - TLG) are extremely pleased to announce that they have concluded a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) covering the values, principles and shared interests of the CTFN and TLG. These will be incorporated into a Development Agreement to guide the relationship between the CTFN and TLG, as the Company moves to production.

Ka Shade Heni Mark Wedge, Chief of the CTFN said: "The MOU represents the positive outcome of a number of years of working towards a common interest with Industry. Wedge says this MOU lays the foundation for other business to have successful negotiations with Carcross/Tagish First Nation. CTFN supports mining in its traditional territory that adheres to the values, interests and principles of CTFN. We are interested in working with business that are willing to work within our virtues and the values of our people".

Robert Rodger, President of TLG stated: "The Company appreciates and welcomes the CTFN interest and participation in the exploration and development of the Skukum Mineral District. The Company is confident that both the CFTN and the Company will benefit from the cooperation and support envisaged in the Memorandum of Understanding. Both parties can benefit from the development of resources in the CTFN traditional territory when the two work together with mutual respect."

The MOU provides a basis for participation by the CTFN in project activities as well as stewardship of the land. Opportunities for the CTFN are provided for employment, training and service contracts in regard to the activities on the Skukum property.

To mark the occasion, an official signing will take place at a reception in the Pavilion room at the Empire Landmark Hotel in Vancouver between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM on January 29, 2007, with signing of the MOU scheduled for 4:30PM. The day of January 29, 2007 is, of course, Yukon day at the AMEBC Mineral Exploration Roundup held annually in Vancouver.
