Caravel Minerals Limited (ASX: CVV) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Andrew O'Dowd as General Manager Technical and Mining, effective 27 October 2025.
Mr O'Dowd brings over 30 years of mining experience across operational, technical, and leadership roles in surface mining operations, large-scale civil construction, and corporate environments.
His expertise spans greenfield and ramp-up projects in both contract and owner-operated settings across Australia, New Zealand, and Africa. With a strong background in open-cut mining for commodities including coal, nickel, copper, and iron ore, Andrew has demonstrated proficiency in end-to-end supply chain management, mine planning (from short-term to life-of-mine), mining fleet selection strategy, infrastructure planning, rehabilitation, and closure initiatives.
Andrew previously held senior Operations and Integrated Planning roles at Westland Mineral Sands in New Zealand, Fortescue Metals Group in WA, MMG's Kinsevere Copper Operation in the DRC, and Peabody Energy/Idemitsu in QLD & NSW. Andrew will work alongside key members of the Caravel team, including the recently appointed Caravel Copper Project Study Manager, Mr Greg MacDonald, to advance the completion of a Definitive Feasibility Study for the Company's flagship Caravel Copper Project in Western Australia.
