Cantex Mine Development Corp. - Drilling to commence at the Suwar nickel, copper, cobalt deposit, Yemen.

LOWNA, BC, April 27 /CNW/ - CANTEX MINE DEVELOPMENT CORP.
("CD - TSX.V") Cantex Mine Development Corp. ("Cantex" or "the Company") is
pleased to report that core drilling will commence next week on the Suwar
nickel, copper, cobalt deposit in Northwest Yemen, using the Company's core
drill presently in Yemen. The mineralization at Suwar is contained in a
layered gabbroid complex measuring at least 32 km long and about 8 km wide.
The Company is of the view that the Suwar complex has potential for gabbroid
hosted nickel deposits similar to those found at the Jinchuan Mine in China.
The initial target is a 1.1-km long electromagnetic (UTEM) geophysical
anomaly. Previous drill testing, by the Company was restricted to a 200m long
section of the southern part of this anomaly. Significant grades and thickness
of massive sulphide hosted nickel, copper, cobalt mineralization were
intersected and are summarized in the table below:

Prospecting and geological mapping has shown that massive gossan and
outcropping malachite mineralization (a secondary copper mineral) occur
intermittently along the entire 1.1-km strike length of the UTEM anomaly.
Recent soil and rock samples collected over the entire length of the UTEM
anomaly contain highly anomalous nickel, copper, cobalt values with occasional
traces of platinum, palladium, rhodium, silver and gold. These results seem to
indicate that the UTEM anomaly reflects a deposit of massive sulphides similar
in nature to the sulphides intersected in the 6 drill holes referred to above.
Drill testing of the 900 meter long untested part of the UTEM anomaly will be
carried out at 100 meter intervals along strike with the objective of
identifying a nickel, copper, cobalt resource containing commercial metal
grades.
In addition to the mineralization seen in the UTEM anomaly, strong
nickel, copper and cobalt values have also been drill intersected along the
projection of the UTEM anomaly some 1.6-km south of the area covered by the
UTEM grid. This 1.6-km zone, in between drill intersections of nickel-copper
massive sulfides, will be core drilled to establish whether there is
continuity of mineralization. Should additional commercial metal grades be
discovered along strike of the aforementioned zone of excellent nickel-copper-
cobalt massive sulfide grades, additional drilling will be carried out to
delineate the resource and hopefully define a commercial deposit.
