Brazil's MBRF expands Uruguay beef operations with $70 million investment

Brazilian meat processor MBRF BMFBOVESPA:MBRF3 said it has invested $70 million to expand its industrial complex in Tacuarembo, Uruguay, inaugurating the facility on Thursday to boost output of higher value‑added beef products.MBRF, which has operated in Uruguay for around 20 years, expects the expansion to lift monthly hamburger production to 900 tons from 200 tons, it said in a statement.
