Brazilian power company Equatorial BMFBOVESPA:EQTL3 is expected to be the strategic investor in the privatization of sanitation company Copasa BMFBOVESPA:CSMG3, local newspaper Valor Economico reported on Wednesday.Equatorial filed a new bid to take the role of strategic investor — which will purchase 30% of Copasa --, Valor said, without providing further details. Equatorial's main reported competitor in the deal so far, a consortium formed by sanitation firm Aegea and its shareholders, did not file a fresh proposal, Valor Economico reported.Copasa had last week announced a new period for investors to send proposals, which ended earlier on Wednesday.
