Feb. 14, 2011 (Filing Services Canada) -- Boxxer Gold Corp. (BXX - TSX Venture, BXXRF - OTCBB_Pink_Sheets), ("Boxxer" or the "Corporation") is very pleased to announce the results of the first four diamond drill holes from the Boss copper-gold project in southern Nevada.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Four multi-element zones of anomalous copper-gold-silver-lead-zinc-arsenic-bismuth in drill holes DDH-02-2010 and DDH-03-2010;
- Concentrations of elements within these anomalous zones significantly exceed concentrations found in unaltered rock, which demonstrates the widespread and multiple nature of the mineralizing processes that have taken place at the Boss project;
- 0.32 g/t gold and 7.80 g/t silver over a core interval of 11.2 metres (m) including 0.71 g/t gold and 18.0 g/t silver over 3.2m, in DDH-02-2010;
- Visible fracture controlled and disseminated malachite and azurite (both copper oxide minerals) and fracture controlled pyrite mineralization over core intervals of 13m and 6.7m in DDH-04-2010, assays pending.
"I am very pleased with the drilling results at the Boss project as we continue to develop the copper porphyry model for the property," commented Elmer B. Stewart, President and CEO of Boxxer Gold Corp. "The thick, multiple element geochemical anomalies as well as the visible copper mineralization related to porphyritic dikes in DDH-04-2011 suggest several mineralizing events. The concentration of the copper mineralization in DDH-04-2011 has yet to be confirmed by assays but clearly indicate that copper-bearing solution circulated through the rocks. Assay results used to guide the future direction of our drilling program are taking much longer than usual to receive."
DIAMOND DRILL PROGRAM
Drill holes DDH-02-2010 and DDH-03-2010 intersected four multi-element geochemical anomalies that range in thickness from 10m to 30m. The concentrations of the elements within the anomalous zones significantly exceed normal concentrations found in unaltered rock. The presence of these anomalies demonstrates that multiple, widespread mineralizing processes have taken place within the Boss project area. Results for drill holes DDH-02-2010 and DDH-03-2010 are set out below:

DDH-02-2010 was completed to test a moderate chargeability response and a corresponding resistivity high (due to the skarn). This hole intersected 0.31 g/t gold and 7.80 g/t silver from 244.6m to 254.5m a core interval (not true width) of 11.3m. Included within this interval is a higher grade section that returned 0.70 g/t gold and 18.00 g/t silver over a core interval of 3.17m. This mineralized interval is atypical in that it only exhibits a slight enrichment in arsenic (see table above) but is rather significant because it represents a new style of gold mineralization not previously recorded in the Goodsprings Mining District.
DDH-04-2011 tested a moderate chargeability and resistivity low and intersected four argillic altered porphyritic dikes between 354m and 570m depth. The host rocks around the dikes described as limestone and argillite limestone exhibit a pyrite halo. Two zones of fracture controlled and disseminated copper (malachite and azurite) and pyrite mineralization were observed in the core from 549.0m to 562.0m and from 603.0 to 609.7m. The interval from 338.4m to the bottom of the hole was described as a pyritic, brecciated, argillite bearing limestone. Assays for this hole are pending. The reader is cautioned that visible copper mineralization does not necessarily equate to significant concentrations of copper and there is no assurance that the assay results of the samples from this drill hole will yield significant copper concentrations.
DDH-01-2010 was completed to test a strong chargeability and low resistivity response. The hole intersected 200m of Quaternary sediments. Below the sediments, the hole intersected limestone. The cause of the chargeability anomaly has not been explained. Boxxer is working with Quantec to select the location for another hole to test this anomaly.
Boss Project - QEMSCAN Study
Forty-eight samples of various rock types (mineralized and non-mineralized) from the Boss project were submitted for QEMSCAN analysis.
The QEMSCAN study has identified marbles and a mixture of alkali-granite, granite, granodiorite and syenite porphyries and intrusive mafic dikes of picrite basalt and basaltic composition. The results show that in the marbles (and several intrusive rocks) the copper minerals are mainly malachite, chrysocolla, atacamite and copper sulphides (chalcopyrite), while locally copper-cobalt (carrollite) is the main metallic phase. Two very small gold (electrum) grains were found in the marble. Mercury occurs in a number of samples, most likely as cinnabar but also with silver in the sulphide imiterite. The study shows that most of the mineral grains are not visible with an ordinary microscope.
Boss Project Future Drill Program
Boxxer plans on filing an amendment to its current Notice of Work to obtain approval from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to add holes in the area of the current diamond drill program. DDH-05-2011 (azimuth 000 and dip -70 to the north), located on the same site as DDH-04-2011, has commenced and is expected to take three to four weeks to complete. After that, the helicopter supported phase of the drill program consisting of a minimum of three holes will proceed.
Sample Preparation and Analysis:
All drill core samples were prepared at the ALS Chemex laboratory in Reno , Nevada. Prepared sample pulps were shipped to ALS Chemex in Vancouver, British Columbia, for geochemical analysis (using ME-ICP61 package for base metals and Au-ICP21for gold). ALS Chemex's quality system complies with the requirements for the International Standards ISO9001:2000 and ISO 17025:1999. Analytical accuracy and precision are monitored by the use of international and in-house standards. Additional quality control measures included insertion of blanks in all drill core sample batches submitted and requests for duplicate check assays from selected pulp or coarse-reject samples.
