Members of BCL's engagement team are currently conducting six days of awareness-raising activities with respect to a necessary Landowner Identification Study (LIS) under the company's Panguna project EL01 exploration licence. The sessions commenced earlier this week in Dapera village and will take in other key villages, including Moroni, Guava, Kupe/Kaino, Onove/Enamira before concluding next Tuesday at Kokore.
Following the awareness-raising sessions field data will also be collected with social mapping work also part of BCL's pre-feasibility activities. The LIS work is being done in conjunction with Bougainville's, Social Environmental Research and Consultancy Services (SERACS).
BCL's Bougainville Manager Operations Elly Sawa said the sessions are progressing very well and the team placed priority on keeping people informed and also valued the local input.
