Halt in trading of Botala Energy limited (botala) securities on the botswana stock exchange

BSE wishes to inform the market that Botala Energy Limited securities listed on the BSE Foreign Main Board shall be halted from trading for two (2) days effective today Monday 02 February 2026 until Tuesday 03 February 2026 in terms of Section 8.3.1 9(b) of the BSE ATS Equity Trading Rules.

With the objective of maintaining a fair, efficient and orderly securities trading environment, the securities have been halted at the Company's request pending an announcement in respect of a proposed capital raising.

The halting of the Company's securities from trading will be reinstated on Wednesday 04 February 2026 or once the Company has published full details on BSE X-News, whichever comes earlier.

This halting is done at the request of the Company as approved by the ASX.

Pursuant with Listing Rule 17.1, Botala Energy Ltd (Botala or the Company) (ASX Code: BTE) requests an immediate trading halt be granted by the ASX, with respect to its securities.

In accordance with Listing Rule 17.1, Botala advises:

1. the reason for the request is to facilitate an orderly market in the Company's securities pending an announcement in respect of a proposed capital raising;

2. Botala requests that the trading halt end on the commencement of normal trading on Wednesday, 4 February 2026 unless otherwise advised; and

3. Botala is not aware of any reason why the trading halt should not be granted, or of any other information necessary to inform the market about the trading halt.
