Bird Holding has launched a public offer for all outstanding shares of Breda-based CM.com. Bird is offering 165.8 million euros. CM.com has not yet responded to the bid.

CM provides software and cloud services for communication, payments and customer interaction. The company was founded in 1999 in Breda and is listed on Euronext Amsterdam.

Bird states that there is a strong ‘strategic rationale’ for combining Bird and CM.com. Bird has shared its views on the strategic benefits of a potential transaction with CM.com and has invited them to enter into discussions about this proposal.

The combination of Bird and CM.com is expected to (and should) lead to an integrated AI-first platform that fundamentally transforms the way companies communicate with customers — from acquisition to conversion and retention, across all channels.

CEO Robert Vis states: “Bird believes that modern businesses today require an integrated platform that brings together customer data, AI-driven interaction and revenue generation in one seamless experience. By combining Bird’s AI-first data platform and integrated infrastructure with CM.com’s expertise in conversational commerce and strong European customer base, we are creating the complete platform that enables brands to turn every customer interaction into lasting relationships and measurable growth.”

Bird, launched in 2011 as MessageBird and, with a valuation of 3.6 billion euros, one of the most successful ‘unicorns’ in the Netherlands, cut 120 jobs earlier this year in preparation for relocating to offices abroad, including in New York, Istanbul, Dubai and Vilnius.
