Media release CFS and Beach partnership protecting local community 25 September, 2025 Beach has further strengthened its relationship with the South East community through a partnership with local Country Fire Service brigades. The $15,000 partnership will be used to provide additional emergency equipment so the Mackillop Group can continue their vitally important work of protecting property and keeping the community safe. The MacKillop Group covers nine brigades: Penola, Comaum, Coonawarra, Kalangadoo, Maaoupe, Monbulla, Wattle Range, Mount McIntyre and Nangwarry. The Mackillop Group also provides operational support enabling 24 hours a day, seven days a week, fire and rescue services to the greater area of Penola. Beach Senior Community and Land Manager Phil Jones said he enjoyed visiting the Mackillop Group headquarters with Beach Chief Operating Officer Glenn Watt and Executive Vice President Exploration and Subsurface Bill Ovenden to meet some of the local CFS heroes. "From fires, road crashes and storm damage, through to animal rescues and much more, the CFS brigades in the South East are the backbone of the region's emergency response," Mr Jones said. "To be able to partner with the local brigades and to provide support for additional emergency equipment which will be potentially used to save lives or protect landholders' property is something all of us at Beach are very proud of." Local CFS MacKillop Group Officer Mariska Hawke said: "This partnership with Beach is really exciting for our Group and Brigades. The additional equipment supplied through this funding will ensure our members can better support our local communities in their time of need, we are extremely grateful" In FY25, Beach interacted with 54 community organisations, positively impacting over 25,000 individuals -demonstrating an ongoing commitment to making a meaningful difference in the communities which it operates.
