BayWa r.e., a renewable energy project developer, has completed the sale of 100% of the share capital of its subsidiary WHF 01 to NetOn Power , a renewable energy platform launched by investment firms Quantum Energy Partners and 547 Energy. The special-purpose vehicle, controlled by BayWa r.e. Power Solutions, includes a portfolio of four commercial and industrial solar rooftop and carport projects located across Italy , totaling approximately 14 MWp. The portfolio comprises two operational and two ready-to-build projects. For NetOn Power , this acquisition marks the expansion of its on-site renewable energy solutions for industrial clients. Capcora served as the exclusive sell-side M&A advisor to BayWa r.e. on the transaction, supporting the company throughout the process from investor outreach to negotiation and closing. Simmons & Simmons acted as the legal counsel to BayWa r.e., while Parola Associati advised NetOn Power on the transaction. Dr. Daniel Gafke , COO of Corporate Finance at BayWa r.e. Previously, in December 2025 , BayWa r.e. completed the sale of a 46 MW floating solar project in Friesland, the Netherlands . The floating solar project will be developed by the local cooperative, with support from the Friesland Clean Energy Fund and the municipality. Additionally, in December, Virya Energy , a renewable energy company, announced the acquisition of BayWa r.e.'s Japan solar platform and operational team. The platform comprises a development and operating solar portfolio exceeding 60 MWdc across multiple prefectures in Japan , contributing to Virya Energy Group's strategic growth targets in Asia . According to Mercom's Annual and Q4 2025 Solar Funding and M&A report, approximately 37.4 GW of solar projects were acquired in 2025, compared to 37.7 GW in 2024.
