Two- and three-wheeler major Bajaj Auto on April 30 said its Board will consider share buyback on May 6. Consequently, the company's shares rose over 2%.
"The Board of Directors of the Company will consider a proposal for buyback of fully paid-up equity shares of the Company and other matters necessary and incidental thereto, at its meeting to be held on 06 May 2026," said Bajaj Auto in a stock exchange filing.

AT 10:52 am on April 30, Bajaj Auto shares were trading 2.3% higher at Rs 9,762 apiece.
This is the first instance in a little over two years that the company will be considering a buyback of equity shares. The last instance of Bajaj Auto doing so was back in March 2024.
Back in 2024, Bajaj Auto had carried out Rs 4,000-crore buyback at a price of Rs 10,000 per share.
Earlier this month, Bajaj Auto Ltd reported a 20% rise in total sales at 4,45,377 units in March as compared to 3,69,823 units in the same month last year.
Total domestic sales were at 2,66,290 units last month as against 2,21,474 units in the year-ago period, up 20%, Bajaj Auto Ltd said in a regulatory filing.
Two-wheeler sales in the domestic market were at 2,21,021 units as against 1,83,659 units in March 2025, registering a growth of 20%, it added.
Exports of two-wheelers were up 21% at 1,59,452 units last month as compared to 1,32,073 units in the same month a year ago, the company said.
Total commercial vehicle sales in March 2026 stood at 64,904 units as compared to 54,091 units in the year-ago month, a growth of 20%, it added.
Commercial vehicle sales in the domestic market stood at 45,269 units as against 37,815 units in March 2025, while exports were up 21% at 19,635 units as against 16,276 units in March 2025, the company said.
