ATN launches four more digital television channels and acquires more cricket

TORONTO, Oct. 24 /CNW/ - Asian Television Network International Limited
(ATN) (TSX Venture-SAT) is delighted to announce the launch on October 19th
2005 of ATN-ZEE Cinema, a popular Indian movie channel, ATN-ZEE Gujarati, a
regional Language channel, ATN-Aastha, a Spiritual, devotional and faith based
channel with yoga, fitness, aromatherapy and live telecasts of major festivals
of India, and ATN Bangla, the longest running independent satellite channel
from Bangladesh.
We have also acquired the exclusive Canadian rights to the prestigious
Videocon Cup, a twelve game ODI series with India vs. South Africa and India
vs. Sri Lanka commencing October 24th 2005 to the end of November 2005 and
will be shown live exclusively on both ATN and CBN channels.
Following the launch of the above four channels on Rogers Digital Cable,
ATN will own and/or operate eleven channels. The existing channels already in
operation are: ATN's flag ship channel with the best of internationally
acclaimed ZEE TV programming; ATN B4U, Bollywood for you, our Hindi movie
channel; ATN-Alpha ETC Punjabi, our Punjabi language channel; ATN-Jaya TV, our
Tamil language channel; ATN-ARY, our Urdu language channel with programming
from Pakistan; CBN, the Commonwealth Broadcasting Network that features lots
of Cricket and Caribbean programming; and the most recently launched Sony
Entertainment Television, SET Asia. ATN ZEE our flagship channel is available
on Rogers, Bell ExpressVu, Shaw, Cogeco, Star Choice, Videotron, Delta and
other cable systems across Canada.
ATN in collaboration with Rogers Digital Cable expects to create very
attractive and affordable packages amongst its eleven channels.
