BOARD CHANGES
The Board of John David Sports Plc ('JD Sports') is pleased to announce that
Malcolm Blackhurst has today joined the Board and taken up his position as
Finance Director of the Company.
JD Sports is a leading specialist retailer of fashionable branded sports and
leisure wear based in Heywood, Lancashire with some 146 stores nationwide.
Malcolm joined JD Sports in 1991 as Financial Controller. He has vast
experience in dealing in all aspects of accounting, auditing and corporate
finance and has nurtured and developed a team of over 20 people over the past
10 years. Prior to joining JD Sports he spent 13 years in public practice.
Barry Bown, Chief Executive, John David Sports plc, commented: 'I am delighted
that Malcolm has been appointed to the role of Finance Director. He is an
invaluable member of the team and has played a leading role in developing the
accounts department over the last nine years. I wish him every success in his
new role.'
Peter Cowgill has resigned from the Board of John David Sports plc, with
effect from today.
There are no further details required to be disclosed in relation to paragraph
16.4 of the Financial Services Authority Listing Rules.
