(Notes) Net sales and Segment income or loss by segment (operating income or loss) are figures before the elimination of inter- segment transactions.
During the first quarter of the fiscal year under review (from April 1, 2024 to June 30, 2024), the Japanese economy showed a gradual recovery backed by the normalization of social and economic activities and improvements in the employment and income environments. However, the outlook remains uncertain due to concerns about a slowdown in consumption, as income growth has failed to keep pace with continued high prices.
Under these circumstances, the Group's operating results for the first three months of the fiscal year under review were as follows. This was mainly due to a decrease in operating income in the core segment of Business Wear Business, which offset strong performance mainly in Franchisee Business.
Net sales: 44.979 billion yen (up 1.5% year on year)
Operating income: 1.695 billion yen (down 8.7% year on year)
Ordinary income: 1.732 billion yen (down 19.7% year on year)
Net income attributable to owners of the parent: 800 million yen (down 35.0% year on year)
