This long-term ambition is backed by science-based targets that have now been officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Overall Goal: Reach net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across the value chain by FY2045. Near-Term Targets: Reduce absolute Scope 1 & 2 GHG emissions by 42% by FY2030 from a FY2020 base year. Reduce absolute Scope 3 emissions from fuel- and energy-related activities and end-of-life treatment of sold products by 25% by FY2030 from a FY2022 base year. Commit that 90% of our suppliers by spend (covering purchased goods and services, and upstream transportation and distribution) will have science-based targets in place by FY2030. Long-Term Targets: Reduce absolute Scope 1 & 2 emissions by 90% by FY2040 from a FY2020 base year. Reduce absolute Scope 3 emissions by 90% by FY2045 from a FY2022 base year. To meet these ambitious goals, Ansell is taking action across several key areas: Enhancing energy efficiency across operations and maintaining ISO certified energy management systems. Transitioning to renewable energy in owned and controlled sites. Engaging suppliers to encourage SBTi-aligned target-setting. Designing products with lower-impact materials and sustainable product innovation. Expanding product end-of-life and recycling initiatives. Strengthening transparency through robust reporting and clear accountability. "Reaching net-zero is one of the most ambitious goals Ansell has set in our 130-year history and one we are determined to achieve. We have already made significant progress, including reducing our operational emissions by 19%* through a multi-year investment program. The SBTi validation of our science-based targets also reflects our growing supplier engagement and demonstrates we have a clear, actionable plan grounded in both responsibility and business strategy. This is not just about reducing our own footprint-it's about helping our customers achieve their sustainability goals too. We know that collaboration, innovation, and transparency will be key, and we're proud to lead the way toward a more sustainable future."
