The first X'trapolis 2.0 train has entered passenger service in Melbourne, Australia. The train has been developed in partnership with the Victorian Government and is built locally by Alstom at its Dandenong and Ballarat manufacturing sites, with the project supporting 750 jobs in the State of Victoria. The X'trapolis 2.0 train is planned to be rolled out over the coming years, replacing the longest serving trains operating on the Melbourne rail network and improving reliability and accessibility. 4 May 2026 - Alstom, global leader in smart and sustainable mobility, has delivered the first X'trapolis 2.0 train into passenger service in Melbourne, Australia. The train is the first of an initial €300m order for 25 trains placed by the Victorian Government, locally manufactured by Alstom at its Dandenong and Ballarat manufacturing sites.
