OTTAWA, April 29 /CNW Telbec/ - Allen-Vanguard Corporation ("Allen-Vanguard" or the "Company") (TSX:VRS) is pleased to announce the results of the Annual General Meeting of the shareholders of the Company held on April 28th, 2008 in Ottawa and several initial decisions of the new Board regarding appointments.
At the meeting shareholders approved the following resolutions.
- To appoint KPMG LLP as auditors of the Corporation and to authorize the directors of the Corporation to fix the auditors' remuneration; - To elect Peter M Kozicz, Cary McWhinnie, David O'Blenis, Philip O'Dell, Larry Cavaiola and David Luxton as the members of the board of directors for the upcoming year.
Following the Annual and Special Meeting of shareholders, Mr. O'Blenis was re-appointed Chairman of the Board and Chair of the Human Resources Committee, Mr. McWhinnie was re-appointed Chair of the Governance Committee and Mr. Kozicz was re-appointed Chair of the Audit Committee.
